The 97 Johnston Pride lead by Head Coach, Dan Nunes and Assistant Coaches, Steve Biggs and Leigh White, captured the silver medal in their U-11 classic level age bracket at the Beast of the East held in Greenville, NC on February 7 - 8, 2009.  The Pride's offensive attack, comprised of Everett Biggs, Karly Dreyer, Jacqueline Pavel, Nicole Guerrero, and Dominique Quintero was quick to move the ball and had a total of 5 goals for the weekend.  An equally strong defense shut out most teams with strong play by Julia Carpenter, Lauren Daniels, Amanda Eckard, Hannah Hunt, and Varner St Clair.  All totalled the defense allowed only one goal to get by them and managed 4 assists in the goals scored. The goalie, Rachel Witkin did a great job stopping the attempts to score by their opponents with several great blocks. Way to go 97 Johnston Pride!
