2016 Mr. Soccer - Dillon Parker

We are very pleased tonight to recognize one of Corinth Holders High School's varsity male soccer players.  Mr. Dillon Parker, a current senior at Corinth, is being awarded the 2016 Mr. Soccer Award presented by the Johnston United Soccer Association.  The Mr. Soccer Award represents the high school boy’s soccer player who had the greatest impact on high school boy’s soccer for his team and the county during the 2016 season.

Presenting the award this evening will be Keith Jenkins, Director of Coaching for Johnston United.

In attendance this evening with Dillon is his father Donny  and his mother Lynn.

Dillon was a 3 year varsity letter winner in the midfield for Corinth Holders.  This past fall as a senior he was selected to the North Carolina Soccer Coaches Association 3A All State team, All Region and All Conference. He was the 3A Two Rivers Conference Offensive Player of the Year as well as the Corinth Holders Most Outstanding Offensive Player leading the team to the conference championship.  On the field, Dillon recorded 11 goals and 19 assists to lead the Pirates with 41 points this year while leading the conference in assists. Dillon plans to play soccer in college next fall at a school still to be determined.

Coach Walston had this to say about Dillon “Dillon is very deserving of recognition as Johnston County's Mr. Soccer. He has had a very good soccer career here at Corinth Holders and we are very excited that he gets the opportunity to play one more game as a Pirate at the East / West Senior all-star game this summer in Greensboro.

Dillon has competed in club soccer every year and was a member of the NC Olympic Development Program that played in the ODP national championships.  He also had the pleasure of playing against Costa Rica in an ODP friendly.

It is now with great pleasure that we recognize Dillon Parker as the 2016 Mr. Soccer Award winner.  Dillon is being presented a trophy for his accomplishment as well as a $200 scholarship for his accomplishments on and off the field of play.  Johnston United would like to thank Dillon for representing soccer in a positive way across the county.

Please give Dillon a round of applause for his accomplishment.
